The History Make no mistake, the early years of the OXSC was a fight for survival. As a new club in a city with a lack of sporting grounds and soon to be beset with drought conditions, perhaps the biggest challenge apart from recruiting a competitive playing list and coaching staff was finding a training and matchday venue. Xavier College was not an option given the explosion in popularity of soccer and so the call went out to councils across Melbourne. Boroondara answered the call and gave the OXSC access to Smith Reserve for the 2002 season.
